Does anyone agree with Christian Dior for getting rid of Galliano ?

i personally dont agree with it AT ALL!

i think its stupid, so many other celebrities have made comments like that before! the ONLY reason they got rid of him was cause of friggin Natalie Portman.

Galliano is genius, I am NEVER wearing Dior again.|||Everyone has the right to their on opinion but I think what he said was fuelled by alcohol more than anything. He probably is a tad anti-semitic and or racist, but as far as I can see it did not affect is work, after all he was pictured with Natalie Portman and I doubt he said anything of that nature to her.

From what I can see he doesn't seem to think much of Italians as the woman were italian. It was a horrible thing to say to anyone Jewish or not.

Dior had too distance the brand from him. People still remember Hugo Boss made the Nazi uniforms.

Forgetting what was said he basically got pissed drunk in a bar and got into trouble with the police, most employers would not like that very much.

I'm sure eventually he will start again somewhere, sometime either with a house or not but he might call it quits, didn't rate his work highly honestly.|||No, Galliano is bigger than Dior. He does however have a drink problem, and like many alcoholics, can offend. As for his antisemitic remarks, they are unfortunate and offencive to survivors and families who lost their lives in the concentration camps (but then as Galliano should know, gays were selected for arrest and execution by Nazis long before the Jews were arrested and deported for internment). Therefore Galliano is an example of the pot calling the kettle black and seems to imply that he himself should also be "gassed", I am unsure if his diatribe is an attempt at a joke or if he is deliberately wishing to provoke (they were obviously not Jewish).

History is littered with racist (and antisemitic) genius and prominent people.

Wagner was a vociferously antisemitic genius of a composer. Henry Ford was a notable and prominent antisemite but it didn't stop the world from buying millions of Ford cars.

Dior have grossly miscalculated and will suffer loss of revenue at a time when it could ill afford it.

It would have been far better if Dior had forced Galliano to apologise sincerely (and go into rehab!).

Fashion loves controversy and scandal and fashion loves Galliano who came along and woke up this stuffy old fashion house, clearing away the cobwebs. You don't kill of the goose that lays the golden egg/s.|||Even I don't condone what he said and I'm Middle Eastern haha, but I don't know if firing him was the best idea...I agree that he is a genius and his shows are always entertaining. Plus, I hate Natalie Portman and I don't think she's a good spokes model for the brand.
